If you are planning a trip to Laos, it's essential to know that Indians can get a visa on arrival or also can apply for an e-visa before their planned visit. To make the process smoother, here are five important things you must keep in mind when applying for a Laos e-visa:

1. Visa on Arrival is available for Indians, and it's an easy application process after your arrival at the port. It is valid for a single entry only for 30 days with a cost of $40. You will need to bring cash (USD/Thai Baht/Lao Kip) to pay for this fee.

2. If you want an e-visa, it usually takes 3 to 5 business days to approve an E-Visa, but applying at least 10 days in advance is recommended to avoid any last-minute hassle. You can spend a maximum of 30 days in the country.

3. You don't need to apply through any third-party websites, I would suggest you directly visit the official website where you pay a fee of $50 for the application.

4. The required documents include a scanned copy of the Passport cover page, Passport bio page, and a Photograph size 4x6 cm.

5. eVisa can be used to enter through these designated ports - Wattay International Airport (Vientiane), Lao – Thai Friendship Bridge I (Vientiane), Luang Prabang International Airport (Luang Prabang), Lao – Thai Friendship Bridge II (Savannakhet Province), Pakse International Airport (Champasack Province), Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge IV (Bokeo Province),  Boten International Checkpoint (Luang Namtha Province).
